SIP BAR & LOUNGE opened on the border of Chinatown, North Beach & Nob Hill in San Francisco in 2005 as an unpretentious, fun, DJ-focused dance club.
Over the past decade, we have evolved to offer one of the City's first bar-within-a-bar concepts *not* focused on the Prohibition era, but in a tribute to one of America's first smugglers/bootleggers & Founding Fathers- John Hancock.
We envisioned the parlor in Hancock's Boston home, where plans of the American Revolution might have been devised by common men & women.
Hand-crafted cocktails focus on 4 of the spirits available during the early days of the 13 Colonies: Brandy, Gin, Whiskey & Rum. (Vodka, Tequila & Mezcal cocktails are still offered as well).
The Main Bar area of SIP offers a 30 foot long full bar, lounge & bar seating, a gallery of 80's Action Star Heroes & shares some common design elements with The Hancock Room.
Walk-in guests are always welcome when we aren't hosting private events.
Reservations are recommended for groups wanting a Table for up to 10, or to book The Hancock Room for parties of 50+.
